Bintang Curry Bowls : A Ramadan Special

As Ramadan approaches, our hearts and kitchens at Bintang are brimming with excitement and the aromatic spices of our special Curry Bowls. At the heart of our menu this holy month are dishes deeply rooted in tradition and love, passed down through the generations of the family.

The story of Bintang began in 1987 when Omar Sha’s parents, with hearts full of dreams and a secret recipe book, opened the doors to what would become a beloved culinary landmark. Omar Shah's father, poured his passion and expertise into creating dishes that not only tantalised the taste buds but warmed the soul. Today, it carries on their legacy, ensuring that every dish we serve is a reflection of Omar Sha’s family history and love for food.

Ulek Curry (VE) (GF):

A vibrant and bold dish, our Ulek red curry is a testament to my father's ingenuity in the kitchen. Combining the tender sweetness of aubergine, the fiery kick of scotch bonnet, and the exotic tang of mangosteen, all simmered in creamy coconut milk, this curry is a celebration of flavours that perfectly embodies the spirit of Ramadan.

Filipino Lamb Rendang (GF):

This dish is a slow-cooked marvel, where lamb is tenderly braised in a coconut lemongrass curry, infusing it with an irresistible depth of flavour. It's a tribute to the rich culinary heritage of the Philippines, adapted by Omar Sha’s  father to become a staple at the table during Ramadan.

Bintang Curry (GF):

The star of our menu, the Bintang Curry, is a symphony of prawns, lemongrass, lime leaf, galangal, tamarind, and coconut milk. Each spoonful of this curry is a taste of our family’s journey, a blend of tradition and innovation, and a dish that continues to win the hearts of our guests.

At Bintang, we believe that food is more than just sustenance; it’s a celebration of culture, family, and the joy of sharing. Each curry bowl we serve is more than just a meal; it's a way to connect with traditions, celebrate the moment, and look forward to the future.
